Ivy's Peppa Sauce Festival

For as long as I can remember, my family gatherings have always had one constant: the unmistakable aroma of my mom, Ivy homemade hot sauce. Passed down through three generations, this recipe was more than just a condiment; it was a family heirloom, a fiery thread woven through our Panamanian history.

My great-grandmother, Mami, first concocted the sauce in Colón, Panama over a century ago. My grandmother, Mama carefully added her own flair while keeping, the essence of Mami’s recipe intact. They both believed in the power of good food to bring people together, and their peppa sauce became the heart and soul of every family meal. Mami’s creation was a perfect blend of local Scoth Bonnet Peppers, hand-picked herbs, and a secret ingredient that gave it an irresistible flavor.

Growing up, I watched my mother Ivy carefully prepare the sauce, adding her own touch while keeping the essence of Mami’s and Mama’s recipe intact. It was during these wonderful moments, surrounded by the warmth of the kitchen and the rich, spicy scent of the sauce, that my passion for our family tradition was ignited.
